Please let it be true

You always know when you have lost control of your party when you cannot even put a lid on your number two's leadership ambitions. Rumours are rife, and some that aren't even that subtle that Gordon Brown's Deputy, Harriet Harman is eyeing the leadership.

The whole idea of Harriet Harman being the Labour leader should send shivers down the backs of even the most stalwart of Labour supporters. But for the government the rumours paint an even worse picture than that. As Harriet positions herself to oust the PM, a challenger has emerged in the shape of Yvette Cooper.

Now whether this challenge will happene before an election is neither here nor there. But the fact that Harriet isn't particuarly liked amongst the grassroots, and Yvette Copper will also be tarnished with credit crunch as she is Treasury Minister, the picture will look very bleak for an Labour recovery.

Although, the thought of two of the most incompetant Labour minister going head to head for the leadership is making me laugh ever so hard at the moment. I hope it happens.
